Hello again!
I felt I should say something here even if it's not totally anime related. After all, (I hope) that two of you there are still interested in what I'm doing now.
Okay so, looking this blog now is kind of nostalgic. I don't regret the time I spend with anime, but neverthless, it's over for me. I may watch something now and then, but more than that, no. Political activities got me completely and I have very little time left to use nowadays. I joined a party that is moderate left in scandinavian scale (and sold my soul to them...).
Also my whole life have really surprised me recently. Although temporary, I finally got the job I wanted and love life have shown signs to better. So now there so many more important things around than cartoons and... yeah. I just wanted to say how well I have been doing and thank you all of you again! I wonder how many times I have said this already.
(I didn't find anything good anime picture so Karl Marx will do.)
Nana - It ended already?
Nana, something that was always too good to be true. I have practically stopped watching anime, but nevertheless Nana managed to kept me following the story with high interest. Such a good way to end this hobby, couldn't think of better show.
Probably the most surprising thing was how well I adapted to the variety of mood, usually wrong timing cause severe lacking in both drama and comedy, but not here. I tried to remember other series like that only to find out there aren't any.
Good characters are of course essential for these type of shows and Nana doesn't disappoint there. While the whole cast is good there were few I could choose over others. Hachi got lot of screentime and all that was well deserved. Sure, she never learn from mistakes and jump into relationships without much thought, but that's exactly the reason why I love her. I have had my share of perfect shoujo heroines and those flaws only make her look more like human instead of anime character. Reira also got nice character design and VA, Aya Hirano does great job in her role.
As if that wouldn't be enough there is Olivia. Music was important part making Nana at least twice as good and I can't underline that enough. Second opening song 'Wish' is actually one of best anime songs I have heard leaving even KOTOKO's pieces behind.
Really, I could continue this forever, but I think you get the image. Nana beats 97% of shows out there even with "bad" episodes and nothing can change that. Not recap episodes, slow pace or even my retirement from the whole anime medium can't stop this godly form of art being the best series in the history of anime. And I mean it.
