Maria-sama ga Miteru - Haru

The post about first season include many things that stayed same so I don't repeat those. The story about girls in the catholic school continue and the oldest students graduate, some also have to say goodbye to their beloved.

Marimite2 concentrate on many characters instead of main couple which is bit shame, Yumi grew on me effectively during the series as she tried to open cold Sachiko. Her impulsive and happy personality type is one that's often my favourite character in any shoujo. Last 5 minutes also deserves to be mentioned here, that was the best scene Yumi and Sachiko. I really hope that there would have been more scenes like that.

Overall this is beautiful story, but still not the best shoujo ai. Emotional impact and music both are most important things for me while rating any anime and KnM is slightly better on first and a lot better on latter. Nevertheless, everyone who like well developed romantic relationships and don't hate shoujo or slice of life should watch Marimite.

Yeah, and hopefully it's longer than few OVA episodes.

How well does the series handle the relationships between the characters? The way that I understand it, Shoujo Ai and Shounen Ai are like your typical romance anime, just girl-girl or guy-guy, whereas Yaoi and Yuri tend to be used to classify the hentai side of the house. How explicit are the relationships in this series, do the characters get very involved, or do they tend to stay close on a more surface level?

Hmm, maybe romantic was bit strong word to describe Marimite. I would say this resemble more dramatic slice of life shoujo than yuri. There is no sex scenes or fanservice and very little kissing.

Hard to say if all characters are lesbians at all, they just happen to be in school without boys and strong friendships are needed no matter where one is. There is strong emotional affection, but the way it's shown here is subtle. The end of the second season is pretty much only part where is angst. Overall i strongly recommend this.
