Saiunkoku Monogatari 1
Hmm, first episode was amazing and boring at same time. Now i just have to decide which one it is...
I like Shuurei a lot. She is quite funny, her dress is nicely done and seiyuu is awesome. All others characters seem to be at least decent. OP and ED are both forgettable songs that didn't stand out too much.
But the thing i don't find interesting is the story. I doubt i have interest to watch 39 episodes about power struggle between politicians. So, i have one question for those of you who have watched raws. Is the story there just to show character development similar to many shoujo series or is half of each episode used to the things related to the Emperor status?

character development (ep1 is a bit bland but u'll love the chars soon :D) + back story (i only seen till ep4) + clues hinting to possible bad guys.
i started on the novels and the plot/storyline are awesome. keep going :)
It could be just me, but I thought this series is a little boring. Since this is one of the few shoujo series, I will continue to watch this.
Anyways, I think around episode 04, there is a revelation and a machination, and there is steady character development after episode 02.
This series occurs to me as one of those shows in which the manga/novel is much better than the anime.
Thanks for comments. I don't know how i like it in long run, but i watch few episodes to see if it's interesting enough.
Is there rally a manga? I've been looking for it but haven't found it. Is the emperor really homosexual? It could be, he's enough of a bishonen

And I agree that the novel is much better. It's not a manga but a japanese/chinese novel.
Have released 5 volumes in chinese and 8 volumes in japanese. Really interesting... ^__^
